A Look Back at 2014

It's the end of the year, and it just occurred to me that this was my first full year to blog consistently. I remember when I started, hubby asking me if I thought I would "run out of things to talk about"...Lol. Really?  Now, we've been married 28 years...he should know better by now.  I never run out of things to talk about.  The question I asked myself was more along the lines of, "Will anyone actually want to read what I write about?"...As I look back over the stats for the year, my reader numbers have grown slowly, but consistently- we're moving in the right direction!  I've learned so much and this has become a part of my life now...As we head into the next year, I thought I would look back and share my top posts and some of my favorite photographs.  Here goes!

My most viewed post was:

which actually makes a lot of sense when I think about it...It has become a very special and most anticipated annual event.

Number two in the most viewed category was:

also, not surprising...They have a very loyal following, which tends to happen when you serve up GREAT Southern cooking with equally wonderful customer service...I'm so happy they now call Bay Minette their second home!

...and the third most popular post was:

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this one!  I can't believe so many people tuned in to check out my great little home library space!  In this day and age of electronic books, maybe there is still some interest in a real home library.  I've been very worried that books with actual paper pages will become a thing of the past very soon...this tells me there's still hope.

And now, I want to share my favorite photographs from the year.  I'm not real good with the technical part of a camera.  I can "see" the pic in my minds eye and I'm good with the composition part of it all, but that technical stuff is just not interesting to me...and, so, I guess I have a problem!  Once in a great while, I get some pics that I can be proud of...Here are a few (maybe more than a few!) from 2014.

Thanks for hanging with me during 2014!  I'm looking forward to what 2015 has to offer...

  1. Isn't it nice having a blog for us to look back on all the things we've experienced over the past year? You took some great photos and I'm glad I saw that post on your loft library. It's such a neat space. Awesome ladder and I love that cow painting!

    1. Yes, Lorraine, it is nice to have documentation of the last year to actually look back on...without it, I would have forgotten half the things I actually experienced! Glad you were able to "visit" my little library and meet my cows! They were painted by Megan Scofield, an artist I represented at the gallery.

  2. Judy, what a lovely post! Mr. Cozi and I love the Sugar Kettle and stop in quite often. I know you will enjoy it! I had missed your Library post, so I'm so glad you shared it today. It is so cute and creative! I especially loved seeing how you have the books categorized. You and I are kindred spirits, my friend.
