Words of late artist Frank Howell...I totally relate!

"There are few days off and no retirement from this entanglement of knowledge, passion and vision that will be molded and converted into creative expression. There are no guarantees of acceptance, understanding or reward, but...the noise inside the mind never ceases. I will paint today, tonight and for as many tomorrows as I am given..." Thanksgiving, Teaching Friends to Solder and Trunk Shows

Hello friends!  Is everyone looking forward to Thanksgiving?  I know I am...nothing better than spending time with my family and feasting on turkey.  I've got to get busy working on those desserts I'm supposed to bring this year.  I hosted it last year, so this year, making two desserts feels way too easy!

I have been extremely busy trying to make jewelry for a couple of trunk shows that I'm doing, and I just shot a few pics to give you a glimpse into what I'm making.  I had some friends over on Friday to teach them how to solder jewelry, and that was fun.  They each took home a couple of pieces and I believe they enjoyed the process, a chance to be creative, and I know we all enjoyed the company of one another.  I really have to make time to do things like this more often...I love my friends. Anyway, since I had my soldering iron and lots of glass and bits of stuff out, I decided to go in that direction.  Here are my creations from yesterday...

Image is cut from a page from a discarded copy of
The Wind in the Willows.

I'm calling this one "Bits of Discarded Beauty"...as each
element was a piece that had been discarded from broken

This one is my favorite!  I started with a vintage
postage stamp of a circus performer
with his donkey and dog, then added embellishments.

I try to make the back as pretty as the front.

Beaux Bijoux because it looks French...

The next few pieces are some that I made months ago, but have just never gotten around to shooting pics and showing anyone.  They will be in the upcoming trunk shows...

...and, I found time to smash a spoon, but I have many more that need to be smashed for orders and the trunk shows.

If you see anything on here that you would like to know more about, please message me.  I will be happy to gift wrap and send it your way!

My trunk show at Antiques at the Loop will be the evening of Thursday, December 3 during the Open House.

I will be doing a private trunk show for the residents of a local community on Thursday, December 10.

If you are a local (lower Alabama) resident (no businesses please) and would like to host a private trunk show, please let me know and we can arrange that.  If you host a show with ten in attendance, you will receive a $50 credit toward purchase of any of my jewelry.  With $500 in show sales, you will earn another $50 credit.  I still have dates available for Christmas shopping...

I am still working on my business venture that I hinted at a couple of weeks ago...the website is just about ready to go live.  I haven't slept much lately...busy, busy, busy.  Still lots more work to do, but it's coming together.  Here's another hint--well, if you really look at it, it actually shows you exactly what it is!

Isn't the logo great?  Megan (one-third of the creative team that is Clamco) created it for me. We bounced ideas back and forth until it was absolutely perfect.  If you would like to contact her about doing some work for you, she can be reached at www.clamco.blogspot.com.

I will share more details as soon as there's something to see and read!  I am so excited about this...I just have a feeling that it's going to be fabulous.

Thanks for following, and I would love for your to share anything I've posted here.  I appreciate you!
