The Roses Bloomed Just in Time for Mother's Day

The roses bloomed just in time for Mother's Day.  It is most appropriate, since they came from a cutting from my own mother's running rose.  It's the only thing that really does well for me in my yard, and if I had my pick of what would actually live and thrive, it would be that rose vine. It's special...it always reminds me of Mama, and it means more to me now than it ever did before. We lost our dear mother a few years ago, and we miss her dearly. So, today my post is in memory of her, Mary Aileen Smith Hanks,  June 6, 1937- December 12, 2010.  Wish I could tell her Happy Mother's Day in person.

To all of you mothers out there, I hope you enjoy your day.

  1. Beautiful tribute and beautiful roses! Just like your mom, my mom-in-law... She would love it!

    1. She did love that running rose vine...I don't remember who gave it to her, but it was either you and Harold, Becky or Jerry. She always talked to me about how it just grew like crazy and without her doing anything to it. I guess we are a lot alike in that respect- I'm terrible with outside flowers, actually, the inside ones die too! Anyway, thank you for the sweet comment.
